Mendy Set to Return for Real Madrid in Supercopa Clash Against Atletico Madrid

On January 8th, Marca reported that Ferland Mendy is expected to make it in time for Real Madrid's Supercopa clash against Atletico Madrid.

Following their victory in the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid has resumed training to prepare for the upcoming Spanish Supercopa. The Galacticos are set to face Atletico Madrid in the semifinals on Thursday, January 11th, at 3 AM (Beijing time), in Riyadh.

Ahead of their journey to Saudi Arabia, the entire Real Madrid squad underwent training at their base. Mendy has fully recovered from his muscle injury sustained in the match against Alaves. Initially expected to return after the Christmas break, Mendy took slightly longer to overcome the injury setback.

Mendy's significance to Carlo Ancelotti's squad is evident, as he is considered the primary left-back when fit. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Mendy is likely to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup against Atletico Madrid.

Absent from the recent training session were Baskis, Courtois, Militao, and Alaba. Courtois, Militao, and Alaba are sidelined with long-term injuries, while Baskis will miss the Supercopa due to a muscle injury.
