Croatia Official: To Participate in New Cup in the UAE

The official announcement from the Croatian Football Federation reveals that Croatia will join Egypt, Tunisia, and New Zealand in participating in the inaugural Winsunited Cup scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates from March 22 to 26, 2024.



According to the official statement from the Croatian Football Federation, the first Winsunited Cup will take place in the UAE, featuring four teams: Croatia, Egypt, Tunisia, and New Zealand, from March 22 to 26, 2024. Davor Šuker, the president of the Croatian Football Federation, stated, "We hope to make good use of this March tournament because it's not easy to bring together several strong teams. The Croatian national team has a good reputation, especially thanks to the results of the past five years. We managed to find a very good solution that meets the requirements of Coach Dalić and his team. The opponents are strong, and the time in the UAE will be mainly used for the players to create 'chemistry' both on and off the field before the European Championship."
Croatia's head coach, Zlatko Dalić, commented, "We hope to participate in such a tournament, and we will have two exciting matches since all four teams participating are excellent. At the same time, we will have excellent training and working conditions. We will primarily use the time in the UAE for team building, just like we did in the friendly matches in Doha in 2022. The March matches are a good opportunity for us to create a positive atmosphere and lay a solid foundation for the European Championship in Germany this summer."

The semifinals will take place on March 22, with the third-place playoff on March 25, and the winners of the two semifinals will compete for the cup on March 26. Detailed information about the specific match times and venues will be announced later.
