Saudi Clubs Eye Salah Despite African Cup Commitment

Several media outlets have reported that the interest of Saudi Arabian clubs in Mohamed Salah remains strong. Despite the Egyptian forward's current participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, these clubs are reportedly preparing to make another bid to secure his services.

Last summer, Liverpool rejected an extravagant offer of £150 million for Salah, and given his outstanding performances this season, his market value has likely increased. Before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah left an impressive record at Liverpool, with 27 appearances resulting in 18 goals and 8 assists. In the Premier League alone, he shares the top spot in the goal-scoring charts with 14 goals and 8 assists, tying with Erling Haaland.

Salah extended his contract with Liverpool in 2022, committing to the club until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Interestingly, the Saudi clubs showing renewed interest are now leaning towards Riyadh-based powerhouse Al Nassr, who are currently leading the Saudi Professional League. Despite already having a potent attack, adding Salah to their roster could further strengthen their offensive capabilities. Al Nassr has set its sights on winning the AFC Champions League, and Salah's addition might boost their chances for the coveted title.
