Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke to the media about the club’s current sponsorship situation

On the Nike contract
"This will be the best contract in global football. Although it could have been signed in August, I wanted to get the best deal, so I didn’t sign it. We explored the market for better offers, and we successfully found and matched one. We are in negotiations, and it’s almost finalized, so it will be announced soon. It’s a 10-year contract.
We are continuously improving. The contract with Nike will help. By December, we must prove to La Liga that we have positive financial results and must comply with the 1:1 rule. La Liga has already recognized our efforts in reducing wage expenses. Do we still need to make up €60 million? Yes, but we’ve already confirmed €35 million in funds. As for the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, there’s no need to worry."

On Aramark
"They offered the best bid and won; they saw an opportunity with Barça."

On Barça Vision shares
"Some companies have already invested, bringing in funds. For unpaid amounts, we’d prefer to recover the shares rather than just the money. What we’re doing is trustworthy, even though it’s not fully recovered yet. Our goal is to achieve long-term financial stability to ensure the club’s sustainable development."

On Camp Nou stadium
"The new stadium, built by Limak, will be the best in the world, with 105,000 seats, the largest in Europe, and it will soon earn everyone’s admiration. I’m confident in the progress of the construction. This is not only a major step for the club's development but also a commitment to creating a better experience for our fans. The new stadium will combine modern design with advanced facilities, ensuring every spectator enjoys an unparalleled match atmosphere."

On the return to Camp Nou
"If not by the end of January, then by early February, depending on the match schedule. We are currently laying the grass and installing the seats. We want to return under comfortable conditions, although there may be some initial inconveniences. This period of effort will provide fans with a better experience, and while there may be challenges during the early use of the new venue, we are confident that the final result will be satisfying and worth the wait."

On the construction company Limak
"This stadium is so highly anticipated that any initial inconveniences will be worth it. We are very satisfied with the chosen construction company. While I wish the construction pace were faster, the progress is also constrained by regulations and permits — this is not a complaint, just a fact. Limak wants to accelerate the pace and has put pressure on us. If no unforeseen circumstances arise, we should be able to return to the new Camp Nou at the beginning of the year."

What unforeseen circumstances could arise?
"Indeed, the escalation of war could lead to delays in material transportation and rising costs, as well as other uncontrollable force majeure situations, which could impact the construction progress beyond weather conditions. This stadium is currently one of the most important construction projects in Europe, and we are very proud of that.
In terms of scheduling, we will do our best to coordinate a smooth return to the new stadium. There are challenges if we play Champions League matches in one location (like Montjuïc) and La Liga matches in another, so we may unify the schedule to minimize disruption for players and fans.
If the project isn’t completed on time according to the contract, there will be penalties, but if the delays aren’t Limak’s fault, we won’t hold them accountable — we are a fair club."

On fans at Montjuïc stadium
"We must thank the fans who traveled to Montjuïc to support the team. It’s only fair that they will have priority when we return to Camp Nou.
Indeed, while the conditions weren’t ideal, we’ve tried to make the access as dignified as possible to enhance the fan experience. Although there may be some inconveniences during the transition back to the new stadium, for Barça fans, the anticipation of returning home is irreplaceable. It’s not just about ticketing and financial matters; it’s about a sense of belonging and identity."
